Oddities Market Recap: Sunburnt but Unbothered

This past weekend Veja Du took the Veil out into the real world and set up at the local Oddities Market and let’s just say it was hot. Not “cute summer day” hot.43°C, question-your-life-choices hot.
But somehow, in between melting into the pavement and aggressively rehydrating, it was actually a really fun day.
There’s something wildly satisfying about watching people discover your work in person, especially when they’re not expecting to stumble across gothic cottages, hollow skull vessels and suspicious little spell books while they’re out “just browsing.”

Despite the heat, the vibes were immaculate. People were curious, chatty, a little feral, our favourite kind, and surprisingly committed to lingering in front of plaster creations while the sun tried to end us all.
We talked oddities, parties, paint nights, bulk orders, decorated pieces, blanks, the whole strange little Veja Du ecosystem, and came home tired, heat-strokey, and very aware that cooling is not optional next time.

So thank you to everyone who stopped by, sweated with us, complimented the work, or just stood there nodding thoughtfully at a haunted skull like it was judging them back.
Worth every drop of sweat :)
